Supporting the Expressing Mother & holding space for the family

from €76.50

Workshop Facilitator: Jen Crawford

Live via Zoom. Date: Wednesday 17th June 2026

Session will be recorded if you cannot make it live.

I am a certified Birth & Postpartum Doula and co-founder of DoulaCare which was the first ever doula agency and doula training organisation in Ireland. I was the first certified Postpartum Doula in Ireland.

I have boundless experience supporting families during their birth & postpartum experience. I specialise with the care of preterm and sick babies and brings this area of expertise to our trainings. I have supported families from all different backgrounds, with many different parenting choices.

I am also a trained Cuidiú Antenatal Ireland Educator and Breastfeeding Counsellor.

I was the Breastfeeding Coordinator for a national charity Irish Premature Babies. for many years. This gave her the opportunity to support families through many different situations.

I have run many workshops nationwide for health care professionals and parents since 2011. I was also extremely proud to be co-author of the only HSE booklet available for breastfeeding preterm and sick babies.

Booklet available on www.MyChild.ie “Breastfeeding & Expressing for your Preterm or Sick Baby.”

Above all that professional experience , my youngest daughter was born in 2018 and gave me the opportunity to live it too. She had complex needs (a severe cleft palate and PRS) and could not breastfeed. I expressed my milk for her for just over two years (she avoided NG tubes, fortifier, formula and only had my milk until 6 months, then EBM alongside solids)

In this workshop I will share all my knowledge, ranging from my time supporting families in NICU, to my work as a doula supporting families in their home, to my personal experience as a mother. We will look at your role, practical day to day life, red flags and so much more.

We will also welcome Guest Speaker Dr Sonya Quinn IBCLC, to show us all the gadgets and gizmos that can come with expressing milk for a baby / babies.
