Self-Care, Compassion Fatigue & Burnout Prevention (2 hours): 28th April 10.30am-12.30pm
Supporting Birth Trauma (3 hours) Thursday 16th April 10.15am-1.15pm
Supporting Multiples Practical, emotional, and realistic support for families with twins or higher order multiples. (3 hours) 22nd April 11am-2pm.
*All sessions will be recorded so you can playback if you cannot attend live. It is expected you will attend most of the sessions live to engage in the activities and group discussions. You will have questions to answer on the modules you do not attend live to ensure you have deep understanding of the topic before your certificate is issued.
All you need is a Zoom account and internet connection.

This will be my only Postpartum Doula Training in 2026 (running once a year) Once you complete the required modules and assignments you will be certified to get professional insurance.and can work as a doula straight away..

Includes guest speakers, real-life scenarios, and interactive sessions for deep, experiential learning led by a Life and Business Coach with 15+ years experience supporting parents in pregnancy and early parenting.

Core Training (6 Days | 24 Hours)
🕙 10:00am–2:00pm live on Zoom (Includes a 15-minute break each day)
Day 1 — The Role of the Postpartum Doula
Scope of practice, ethics, boundaries, core values, and professional identity.
Guest speaker - Lisa Joyce, working doula sharing A day in the life of a doula.
Day 2 — Communication, Active Listening & Emotional Holding
Unbiased, non judgemental communication, emotional regulation, and holding space with confidence.
Guest speaker - Niamh Cassidy, social care worker, IBCLC, Business Coach sharing about supporting diversity with unbiased support.
Day 3 — Understanding the Newborn & Newborn Care
Normal newborn behaviour, soothing, settling, bonding, and practical daily care.
Day 4 — Infant Feeding Support (Inclusive & Non Directive)
Breastfeeding, expressing, bottle and formula feeding, and knowing when to refer to other professionals.
Day 5 — Postnatal Recovery, Mental Health & Family Dynamics
Physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, PMAD awareness, red flags to watch out for, inclusive family support, and cultural considerations.
Guest speaker - Amelie Nyhan, Postpartum Doula. Speaking about nutrition and nourishment for the postnatal recovery.
Day 6 — Professional Practice & Strong Business Foundations
Interviews, ethics, documentation, and a clear checklist for setting up your doula business with confidence.
Guest speaker: Representative from the Doula Association of Ireland (DAI) on peer support and professional membership.
Included Specialist CPD Modules (Open to external participants)

Supporting Birth Trauma. Trauma-aware, respectful support — without fixing, pushing, or re-traumatising.
Guest speaker: Gemma Doyle sharing 3 Step Rewind Technique (3 hours)
Supporting Multiples Practical, emotional, and realistic support for families with twins or higher order multiples.
Guest speaker: Fran Smith Mother of Twins, who had a vaginal birth and breastfed. Sue Kelly, mother of premature triplets who breastfed all 3 babies.

Including NICU, sick and preterm babies, and the practical and emotional realities of expressing milk.

Babywearing for Doulas. (2 hours) Date 20th April 7pm-9pm
Learn safe, supportive babywearing to enhance bonding, regulation, and hands-free care in the postpartum period

Learn how to care deeply without depleting yourself, recognise early warning signs, and build long-term resilience in birth work.

I’m Jen, and I’ve spent the last 15 years devoted to supporting families and growing the doula profession in Ireland and globally.
I bring together a rare combination of experience that makes this training truly unique not just in Ireland, but globally.
Antenatal Educator with a 2½-year Diploma from Antenatal Ireland
Breastfeeding Counsellor and co-author of the HSE booklet “Breastfeeding and Expressing for Your Premature Baby”
Former Director and Breastfeeding Coordinator for Irish Premature Babies, supporting families through the challenges of early arrival, trauma and bereavement.
Birth and Postpartum Doula, having personally supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood
Co-founder of DoulaCare Ireland, the country’s first doula agency, where I grew every aspect of the business from the ground up. Mentoring hundreds of doulas and supporting thousands of families.
Co-founder of DoulaCare Academy, Irelands first ever doula training. I have trained hundreds of doulas since 2020. I am excited to bring all my skills together in my brand new trainings.
