We're Halfway Through 2026. I Asked Myself One Question and Didn't Like the Answer.

We're halfway through the year. That snuck up on me too.

I was doing my own Wheel of Life check in this week, the same exercise I give every new coaching client in our first session, and one question stopped me in my tracks. Not "what have you achieved." Not "are you on track."

Just this: where in your life have you been running on autopilot since January?

For me, it was rest. I'd ticked along, said yes to plenty, been useful to a lot of people, and quietly let my own cup run low without ever clocking it. If you've never done a Wheel of Life, it's simple. You rate different areas of your life, things like health, relationships, fun, finances, career, personal growth, out of ten. Not to judge yourself. Just to see the shape of things clearly.

Most people are surprised by where the low numbers land. Not because they didn't know, deep down. Because they hadn't taken time to sit down and actually looked.

So here's an invitation, halfway through 2026. Pick one area of your life you haven't checked in on since January. Just one. Give it an honest number. Then ask what a small shift would look like, not a full life overhaul. One degree, not 180.

That's exactly what we work through in 28 Days to Clarity, running every January if you'd like a guided hand through it rather than doing it alone on a Tuesday night with a cup of tea and a notebook (also a perfectly good way to do it).

Either way, take the halfway mark seriously. Not as a deadline. As an honest check in.
