Notice How Much Energy you are Leaking
I was chatting with a client this week about burnout — not the dramatic, can’t get out of bed kind, but the quieter version. The kind where everything feels just that bit heavier than it should.
And it got me thinking about my own week.
Nothing major was “wrong”, but I felt stretched. Slightly snappy. A bit foggy. You know yourself.
So I paused and asked: where is my energy actually going?
Not time — energy.
Because they’re not the same thing.
We started mapping it out together, and a few things came up (for both of us):
Saying yes too quickly
Overthinking small decisions
Carrying conversations long after they’d ended
Letting the day run us instead of the other way around
And honestly? No big dramatic change was needed. Just awareness.
A few small shifts that helped:
Taking 5 minutes between calls to reset (not scroll)
Asking “do I need to decide this now?”
Being a bit more honest with “I’ll come back to you”
Protecting the first hour of the day
Nothing groundbreaking. But very effective.
Sometimes it’s not about doing more — it’s about leaking less.
A gentle reminder for the week:
If you’re feeling off, don’t jump straight to fixing your whole life. Start by noticing where your energy is quietly draining.
That alone can change more than you think.
